The Sweetest Days

This project is a visual journey through my life in Eastern Kentucky—a region that has shaped my character as much as my heritage has shaped my heart. Through this collection of memories, I explore the 'Sweetest Days' of my childhood, set against the backdrop of the Appalachian landscape.

Growing up biracial in a small, often homogenous community meant that my identity was a bridge I had to learn to build early on. This project reflects that complexity through its textures and colors; just as the beads along the edges are distinct yet held together by a single thread, my life has been an exercise in weaving two different worlds into one cohesive story. My experience taught me that diversity is not a departure from Kentucky tradition, but a vibrant expansion of it.
